Who's editing this...

I read a curious post on seth godin’s blog and I had to ask: “Seth, who’s editing your posts?” :-). In a world of “publish at the speed of thought”, how do you bring editors into your workflow? Does your original writing lose some of its magic (at least to you)?

I think it depends on the content:

  1. If it’s serious, and intended to teach, a great editor can really help readers/customers LEARN. A day to edit isn’t too bad - and definitely recommended. Get an “educational specialist” to help you edit if you can.
  2. If it’s serious but just personal reflection, write, go away, come back, edit, and publish.. should be enough ?? A few hours difference…
  3. If it’s not so serious, and just “what I did today”, by all means, twitter, blog, facebook,…. away… in realtime, and we’ll enjoy the spontaneity and magic of your thought.

P.S. I keep editing my posts - even the older ones to improve the way they convey their message. The point being - well, I like to keep things tidy! :-))
